Philodendron Black Cardinal Variegated

Overview

The Philodendron Black Cardinal Variegated combines the deep, near-black colouration of the standard Black Cardinal with cream and pale green variegation. New leaves emerge in a rich burgundy-red before deepening to near-black as they mature. On the variegated form, cream sectors reveal themselves during the unfolding process. This specimen is fully rooted.

Care Guide

• Light: Dappled or filtered light suits this plant better than direct sun exposure.
• Watering: Water when the pot feels noticeably lighter or the surface soil is dry.
• Humidity: This plant appreciates higher humidity — a pebble tray or small humidifier nearby helps.
• Growing medium: A chunky, well-draining aroid mix — perlite, orchid bark, and quality potting soil.
• Fertilizer: Feed lightly through spring and summer to support steady growth.

Important Plant Information

Plants are living products. Natural variation in leaf size, shape, colour, and variegation pattern is normal and expected. Future growth may differ from the photos shown.
